Half Bath, All Charm
You have a small bathroom space but that small space can be dressed up to anything that you'd like it to be. Create a space that's cozy and warm or a space that's modern and sophisticated. The choice is yours. But before you get started, here are a few tips to put you on the right path with that charming little bathroom of yours.
Giving that Small Bathroom Space a Much Needed Makeover
When working with a small space, the first thing you'll likely want to do is paint. When painting a smaller bathroom, you'll want to avoid painting with dark colors because dark colors will make the space feel smaller and more closed-in. Stick with colors that are bright and that open the room right up.
Choosing the right color for a small space is particularly important if the room lacks in sufficient lighting. Some colors you may wish to consider include a brilliantly bright white, a pearl grey, baby yellow, pale pink, and a pale aqua colored paint.
If the bathroom is completely outdated, dress up the space with a new toilet and sink. These two plumbing fixtures can make a huge difference in the appearance of any bathroom. When the toilet and sink are outdated, the room will greatly lack and becomes unappealing to invited guests. And don't forget the flooring.
If the flooring is a disaster, forget about it, you'll have wasted all of that hard work on upgrading the toilet, sink, and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint. You may also wish to consider investing in a quality medicine cabinet. Medicine cabinets are a great way to provide more organization in a small bathroom and an additional perk is that they dress up the space as well.
Now that the Hard Part is Over Let the Fun Begin
Now that you've done all of the hard work; the painting, updating plumbing fixtures and maybe even the lighting fixtures and flooring, it's time to decorate the space. Decorating a small bathroom space is easy and when decorating, you'll want to include pieces of you and your personality. Pick just the right wall hangings.
Consider adding some dried flowers if you're into the cozy country theme and don't forget to throw down some bathroom rugs while you're at it. Invest in little decorative toiletry items like a decorative soap dispenser, a waste basket, and we can't forget decorative hand towels. Although, paper towels are more sanitary so you may wish to install a paper towel holder instead.
